Community Partners

Working together to build a better community.

The mission of Community Partners of Brazoria County is to assist the Department of Family & Protective Services (DFPS) and Children’s Protective Services (CPS) caseworkers by providing for the emergency tangible needs of children and their families.

Community Partners of Brazoria County was established in 1999 to meet the needs of abused and neglected children receiving services from CPS. This program is volunteer-based and administered by a volunteer council.

Community Partners meets these needs through the following program components:

Christmas Partners Blessing Children

Christmas Partners Blessing Children is dedicated to providing Christmas gifts to hundreds of children in Child Protective Services care. Christmas Partners is a coordinated effort among Community Partners, Child Protective Services and individuals and organizations in Brazoria County, and is accomplished through the generosity and support of the community.

Individuals, groups or organizations may support our program by:

  • Sponsoring a child or children
  • Conducting Toy Drives
  • Financial contributions for gifts
  • Toy donations

“Please join us this year in making Christmas happy and memorable for children!”

Children’s Annual Picnic and Christmas Party

A summer picnic and Christmas party provide opportunities for children and foster families to experience a summer and holiday dream come true, while establishing and enjoying a typical family tradition. The tradition of a summer picnic and holiday party brings smiles and laughter to children and allows them to experience joy in a fun, nurturing environment while promoting positive youth development, resilience and recovery. Games, refreshments and prizes are enjoyed by everyone!

Birthday Program

For too many children in Brazoria County, receiving a gift on their special day seems like a far-away dream. But thanks to sponsors and donors, the birthday gift program of Community Partners provides birthday gifts for every child in foster care or in the care of Child Protective Services. This program helps celebrate their special day and lets them know that there are individuals who care and are committed to supporting and strengthening the lives of children in our county.

Rainbow Rooms

The most basic needs of children or families in crisis are often unavailable and caseworkers from CPS typically cannot provide the necessities from their personal resources.

The Community Partners Rainbow Rooms are emergency resource centers that are stocked and supported by community volunteers. These rooms are utilized by CPS caseworkers to distribute items to meet the basic needs of children and families in crisis. The 4 Rainbow Rooms in Brazoria County are located in the CPS offices in Angleton, Alvin and Pearland, as well as one that is located at the Angleton BCAC office.

All items in the rooms are new and are donated by members or organizations in the community. Some of these items include:
