Rainbow Rooms
Community Partners
Community Partners of Brazoria County was established in 1999 to meet the needs of abused and neglected children receiving services from CPS. This program is volunteer-based and administered by a volunteer council.
Community Partners meets these needs through the following program components:
- Christmas Partners Blessing Children
- Children’s Annual picnic and Christmas Party
- Birthday gifts
- 4 Rainbow Rooms
- Child Victim Advocacy through Brazoria County Alliance for Children
Rainbow Rooms
Often the most basic needs of a family in crisis become a critical issue when those needs cannot be met. The Community Partners’ Rainbow Rooms provide an emergency resource center that is manned by community volunteers and provides essential items such as baby formula, clothing, personal hygiene products, diapers and school supplies. The Rainbow Rooms are utilized by Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworkers to distribute items that meet the basic needs of families and their children. Three Rainbow Rooms are located in the CPS offices in Alvin, Angleton and Pearland and the final facility is located at the Angleton Brazoria County Alliance Office..
The Rainbow Room is an emergency resource center available to Child Protective Services caseworkers. Stocked with all new items, Rainbow Rooms provide clothing, shoes, underwear, baby formula, school supplies and hygiene items to children entering foster or relative care and children in their own homes who live below the poverty line. Rainbow Rooms are located in the Brazoria County CPS offices in Alvin, Angleton and Pearland, as well as at the Brazoria County Alliance for Children office.
To support your Rainbow Room, you can:
- Conduct a community drive to collect diapers, formula, or other critically needed items
- Volunteer to help shop or stock items
- Support your local Rainbow Room through a cash donation or through the virtual Rainbow Room drive. Participating in the Virtual Rainbow Room drive enables you to help your Rainbow Room provide the most critically needed items to their children without ever leaving your home! You just shop through the internet on a specially designed site that lists the top ten needs of the room in your area.
