Therapeutic Referrals and Follow-up |
The multidisciplinary team immediately assesses the victim’s needs following the forensic interview. The team determines if a child, as well as family members, may be in need of mental health services. Referrals are specific to the type of case under investigation and follow-up through the Children’s Advocacy Center ensures the selection of an appropriate mental health provider. Caregivers often feel overwhelmed with the immediate crisis and require assistance to initiate the process for victim and family mental health follow-through.
