How We Help
Healing Starts With Hope
Support for the journey ahead.
BCAC’s multidisciplinary team works together to reduce trauma, promote healing, and offer hope.
Forensic Interviews
Our trained forensic interviewers create a safe space for children to share their experiences. With patience and empathy, they approach difficult conversations with professionalism and care.
A forensic interview gives children an opportunity to talk about abuse or exposure to violence with a trained professional.
A safe place to be heard.
Trauma Counseling
Licensed counselors provide trauma-focused therapy tailored to each child. They help children and families work through the emotional and psychological effects of abuse and move toward hope and recovery.
BCAC therapists are trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support children as they process what they have experienced.
Compassionate care that supports healing.
Family Advocacy
Family Advocates offer emotional support and resources for non-offending caregivers. They help families navigate services, connect with programs, and access the tools needed for healing.
Advocates provide crisis support, resources, and referrals during the investigation and beyond, based on each family’s needs.
Guidance for families and caregivers.
Medical Exams
In partnership with Texas Forensic Nurse Examiners, BCAC provides free, non-emergency medical exams. These exams can be an important step in a child’s healing process.
BCAC works with medical professionals trained to recognize signs and symptoms of child abuse.
Specialized medical care, offered with compassion.
